First World Record to Be Set at Mahakumbh 2025 on Friday

Prayagraj: The first world record of Mahakumbh 2025 will be created on Friday. Due to the increasing influx of devotees in the fair area, the record for operating 1,000 e-rickshaws simultaneously has been postponed. The new date for this record attempt will be announced in the coming days. However, on Friday at 9 AM, between 300 and 500 people will simultaneously clean the Ganga at three locations—Ramghat in Sector 4, Bharadwaj Ghat in Sector 7, and Gangeshwar Ghat in Sector 9—setting a new world record. Officials confirmed that such a record has never been attempted before.

Given the constant arrival of devotees, it was initially decided to postpone the world record programs. In a meeting of the Mela Authority officials, it was determined that events requiring limited space should proceed as planned to ensure a positive message and the successful execution of the fair. As a result, the first event to take place will be the Ganga cleanliness campaign, scheduled for Friday at 9 AM across three locations.

Upcoming Record-Breaking Events

On February 15, a massive cleanliness drive will take place, with 15,000 sanitation workers participating simultaneously to set another record. On February 16, a world record will be attempted for hand-printing at the Ganga Pandal. The date for the e-rickshaw operation record will be decided later based on the traffic situation. Mahakumbh Nagar District Magistrate Vijay Kiran Anand announced that the world record events will commence on February 14, with the e-rickshaw event being postponed for now. The revised date for this record attempt will be communicated in due course.

Minister Inspects Cleanliness Arrangements

Urban Development and Energy Minister A.K. Sharma conducted an on-site inspection of cleanliness and other arrangements from Triveni Ghat to Civil Lines Hanuman Temple on Thursday. He reviewed the availability of water ATMs, tap water systems, public toilets, and lighting facilities at the ghats. He also instructed officials to maintain cleanliness after Maghi Purnima and offered prayers at the Civil Lines Hanuman Temple. Additionally, he expressed his gratitude to the sanitation workers for their dedicated efforts.
